It is lovely to see new curtains in place. Take a moment to use them yourself while the fitter is still there, so you can ask for adjustments and learn how to look after them.
Read article ↗Sheers transmit light and often need a fabric layer for privacy at night. In bedrooms, check the light gaps around the fitting as well as the fabric. A blackout fabric does not by itself make the entire window completely dark.
Wave gives an even fold and needs compatible tape, hooks and gliders. Pleats fix the folds at the heading; eyelets run on a pole. Fabric quantity depends on the fabric and chosen system rather than one universal fullness ratio.
Record width × height and the units. Include recesses, air conditioning and obstructions in photos if relevant. For recess-fitted blinds, measure at several points and let the supplier specify deductions for the system. Check final sizes before production.
Dust gently and follow the material’s care instructions. Curtains, sheers, roller fabrics and wooden slats do not all use the same cleaning method. In homes with children, check chain safety devices and nearby furniture that can be climbed.
Send the property type, number of windows, light/privacy needs and any saved options. A budget range can help narrow down the specification.
