Light blinds work alongside wooden furniture
In the photo, a light blind sits between cabinetry on the left and brown panelling on the right. The window feels tidy while the timber still stands out. Hiên likes this approach in rooms with plenty of wooden furniture: the blind adds a finish without adding another large brown surface.
Against warm white walls, try ivory or light beige samples. For a greyer interior, compare pale grey as well. Check them under the evening lights too; a colour you enjoy in daylight can feel different after dark.
Choose one timber finish to work with
A brown blind can pick up the tone of a desk or window frame. It does not need to match every wooden item; floors, tables and cabinets may already differ. Choose the finish you most want to work with, then compare blind samples beside it.
Look at both the slats and the ladder tapes. Matching tapes blend in, while contrasting ones create visible vertical lines. A wider room photo is often more useful for choosing than a close-up of the window alone.

Adjust the slats from where you actually sit
The light can feel comfortable beside the window and still glare on a screen from the desk. Tilt the slats a little at a time, then check from your reading chair or workspace.
Tilting the slats and raising the whole blind are separate actions. Ask the fitter to demonstrate your particular controls and try them yourself. Stop if the blind feels heavy, uneven or jammed; extra force is rarely a useful shortcut.
Keep wooden slats dry
For real wood, think carefully about positions exposed to rain or frequent steam. A wood-coloured finish does not identify the underlying material. Confirm whether the sample is real wood, faux wood or another material, then follow its specific care instructions.
For routine dusting, start with a soft dry cloth. Avoid spraying water or glass cleaner directly onto the slats. Photograph stubborn marks and ask about treatment first, particularly if you do not know which cleaners the finish can tolerate.
Bring the colour choice back to the room
Send Hiên a window photo and a wider view showing the floor and cabinetry, and tell us whether it is a bedroom or workspace. We can narrow down colours for a physical sample comparison, then check window clearance and the space needed for the raised slats.
